The National Association of Realtors said on Friday existing home sales increased 1.7 percent to an annual rate of 5.45 million units. March's sales pace was revised slightly higher to 5.36 million units from the previously reported 5.33 million units. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast home resales rising to a 5.40 million-unit pace last month.

By Paul Lienert and Alexandria Sage DETROIT/SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Tesla Motors Inc will offer up to $1.7 billion of new common stock to finance the accelerated launch of its new Model 3 electric sedan, the electric luxury car maker said on Wednesday. Tesla shares fell 2.2 percent following the announcement, which came after the market closed. Tesla, which has posted operating losses since its initial public offering in June, 2010, said in a prospectus it expected to sell as many as 8.2 million shares at a price of $204.66 a share.

Charter Communications Inc said Wednesday it has completed its acquisition of Time Warner Cable Inc and Bright House Networks LLC, creating the second-largest U.S. broadband provider and third-largest pay TV provider. The combination of Charter, TWC and Bright House will serve over 25 million customers in 41 states.
