Charter Communications completes purchase of Time Warner Cable

Charter Communications Inc said Wednesday it has completed its acquisition of Time Warner Cable Inc and Bright House Networks LLC, creating the second-largest U.S. broadband provider and third-largest pay TV provider. The combination of Charter, TWC and Bright House will serve over 25 million customers in 41 states. The completion of the deals came days after Charter won final regulatory approvals, about a year after the transactions were announced.

Oil dips on Canada output prospects, record U.S. stocks

By Simon Falush LONDON (Reuters) – Crude prices fell on Wednesday as oil sands production in Canada restarted after forced closures due to wildfires, and as already record-high inventories especially in the United States grew. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures were down 44 cents at $44.22 a barrel. A battle between Middle East producers for market share in Asia also weighed on prices, countering production declines and disruptions around the world.
